Brainstorm:

MineCraft, Harvest Moon, Tycoon games, Battleship, plot deterioration war games, strategy games, grow things. More than 2 players? Gridded land plots. More stylized plots for possible harder levels/older players? Plant seeds every turn. May grow after subsequent turns. Make a batch of 6 (2×3; 6×1?) plants to sell for money. Guard dogs, pests. Spinners, dice, game boards, paper to subtract dollar values or use playing money, seeds which are square papers folded twice. Situations and numbered movements.

Not playtested yet.

Game:

For 2-4 players ages 9 and up

Goal:

To fully grow plants to sell at the market and be the first to earn $200 or be the only one not bankrupt.

Rules:

  1. Each player gets a game card in front of them with a guard dog placed on an open space in the row nearest to its owner and all of the pests are inbetwen the players off of the game boards. Each player starts with $100 and each must spend $10 for 10 seeds and place each seed (papers folded twice) in its own space on its owner’s land. Decide who goes first by rolling the 10-sided die and then rotate clockwise if there are more than two players.

On the first turn:

  1. The player spins the spinner to see what will happen to their own plants:
  • “Rain” which means all of your immature plants grow one level (unfold each paper once)
  • “Dry” which means you have to spend $1 on water and roll the 10-sided die to see how many of your immature plants will receive the water and grow one level
  • or “Crop failure” which means you must roll the 10-sided die to see how many of your plants must be pulled out. Then follow the same instructions as you would for “Dry” in order to grow more.
  1. Roll the 4-sided die to see how many spaces you will move your guard dog in any desired direction. Your guard dog will protect your plants from an incoming pest.

After the first turn:

  1. Keep following the above directions.
  2. You are also attacking another player’s plants with your pest. Your opponent is the player whose turn is after yours. Your pest starts outside of your opponent’s land and, after you move your guard dog, you roll the 4-sided die again to see how many spaces you will move your pest into your opponent’s land. Whenever your pest lands on a plant, the plant is pulled out. On your opponent’s turn, whenever their guard dog lands on your pest, your pest goes back outside of your opponent’s land and your turn ends.

Whenever you have 6 mature crops in a row or in a 2×3 cluster, you sell it to the market and earn $60.

The game ends when someone has $200 or is the only one not bankrupt.
